Building robots is usually what occurs in a Makerspace. However, it has a pretty high barrier to entry especially for those who don’t know how to solder, make and source their own parts, or program software. That’s why the Rebels Makerspace got LEGO Mindstorm kits. Using simple LEGO technic pieces, a variety of robots can be built. Using LEGO’s graphical user interface, LEGO robots can be programmed simply by clicking literal locks of code together. So far, LEGO printers, electric guitars, and robotic hands have been built and programmed.
