This pretty, simple, popular, and (most importantly) useful makerspace project is the brainchild of team member Caroline Dobbeck. Students use glass beads, fabric, mod podge, glue, and magnets to assemble their own locker magnets.
Two things made this one of our best event. First, it was extremely popular. Not only did we have a good turnout, participants were also chomping at the bit to build multiple locker magnets. Second, it used simple materials that are easily accessible. For example, the fabric used was leftover from a previous event. The other materials were easily purchased from a craft store.
The potential for customization is endless. Thus, we are definitely doing this event again!
